Blarghour is a hill farm of 2,000 acres on which unrestricted walking may be enjoyed. Fishing on loch awe is by permit only and the permits are available at the farm. The surrounding sountryside provides river fishing, climbing and hill-walking. Within easy reach of a days motoring are: glenco and fort william (ben nevis), loch lomond, loch tay, the trossachs, dunoon and loch eck, easdale and oban, crinan and the isles of mull, iona, islay, gigha and arran, while more locally one may visit inveraray castle, and an 18th century jail. The cruachan hydro electric power station also merits a visit as does scenic glen orchy and the many beautiful gardens which are open to the public.
